Now that the candidates are set for the US Presidential Election, Barack Obama and John McCain are beginning to set the tone for their campaign. Looking at their most recent speeches, what do you think about what you hear?

Both will say what they think the masses want to hear.
Both are bullshitting to some degree.
Obama will probably win, if it isn't rigged.

McCain seems desperate to try and get as many folks on his side as possible, seeing as though the republican has the definite disadvantage this time around. This is not helping his cause though because with each group he tries to pander to, he pisses off some other group. For instance, he's for amnesty, which most conservatives are not. He also told one group that he doesn't have a problem with gays and marriage, which didn't sit well with the evangelicals. He's walking a very thin tight rope.
Obama has a little more room to walk that tightrope and he's doing a bit of pandering himself. For him though, the democrats are far less group oriented than the republicans and therefore a shade harder to offend an entire block of voters with a flip flop (as long as the flip flop is mild).
