Considering the general lack of activity this site has recently suffered, and my dismay at said want of activity, I propose the institution of formal debates in order to generate interest and new members.
I propose the rule (which will not be immutable - feel free to suggest alterations) to be thus:
-A debate will consist of two opposing parties, one supporting a resolution, and the other opposing it.
-Teams will alternate in posting.
-A team can consist of several individuals, with members alternating in their posts.
-A time limit of two weeks and one post per team per day will be imposed.
I think it would be interesting, and would rid the site of the stagnancy it has recently had the ignominy to suffer.
Edit:
I can't really envision how the judging would take place. If participants were allowed to choose their own judges, it could potentially lead to partiality and cronyism.
