Are we vulnerable because of technology?

We had an interesting discussion in our computers class today. Do you think that we are vulnerable because of technology? Think about it, everything now a days is on the computer now a days. From the way we work [all office,educational, medical and social information] to the way we live [electricity, TV, internet] is digital. I saw a documentry on discovery channel once that in Area 51 the military is testing a device that can knock out electricity, and if such a device was to ever be used in a populated city, it would take months to recover.

I'd be more worried about the increasing control over your life it allows.

Our entire world relies on energy usually from electricity to heat homes (sometimes), and anything in them. I always worry about this, especially when someone can't access PoF! :(
