Labour funding scandal

The link above is but one example of the funding crisis hitting this party over the last few days. Is this really the type of government we want running our country? What's everyone's view on this?

My thoughts are that its high time that political parties were funded from the public purse. Whilst I hate the thought of giving money to politicians of any hue, it will at least take away the need for dubious practises in funding.
