Well, the election in Pakistan is nearing, but the violence is increasing. Do you think that the election might be rigged or do you think that democracy will prevail?
Most of the population is against Musharraf and fears the election will be rigged and incredibly violent.

Does democracy ever prevail? Does it exist anywhere anyway?
Yes, it probably will be rigged to some degree. But who knows for a certainty? The west won't make that big of a fuss if it is, I'll wager. America would rather keep him in power, I should think. Unless he's done something terribly upsetting (Gone against American interests).

A tell-tale sign of a rigged election would be the inauguration of Musharraf.
Election day is today and I have already voted earlier. Lets hope it goes peacefully and new democratic government is formed asap. Btw, the impression is not true that Pakistani people are against Musharraf. I can bet that more than 70% people in Pakistan still supports him.

Well, as far as it goes, it doesn't seem there has been much rigging (I heard there was a bit). Because those are about the right rankings for what the population wants.
