In the East Room of the White House, Bush signed the Stimulus package that had been agreed upon by the Senate and the House last week. The package will provide tax breaks to small businesses, as well as the rebate checks. Singles making up to $75000 will make $600 (as long as you paid taxes, $300 if you didn't, but had income more than $300) and couples up to $150000 will get $1200. Plus $300 for each child. While it wasn't mentioned on the coverage. The bill is also supposed to include rebates for social security recipients and veterans.
He did admit that this was only a short term solution and there were still challenges ahead, but maintained that the economic outlook is strong, and this was just temporary. He seems to be the only one who sees that.
