Today, the former nuclear safety expert, Linda Keen, spoke to the House of Commons natural resources committee about how the restart of the nuclear reactor could have grave and tragic consequences.
I think that she is right, and this should not be a political issue about Safety Vs. Medical Isotopes. She was hired to watch the nuclear reactors, then turn them off and get it all fixed, and that's what she was in the midst of doing when the Conservative government fired her because of the shortage of the medical nuclear isotopes that were produced by the nuclear reactor.

The government has been far from up-front and honest, denying any responsibility of their own. Now they've spoken of privatization, fired the leader of what was supposed to be an independent organization. I'm starting to like Harper and the Conservatives less and less these days, they quite blatantly try to cover up nearly everything, seemingly just for the hell of it at times. Sadly our alternatives aren't even any better. I'd like to point out again that we need some real change in the way our countries are run. A new Prime Minister, President, etc, isn't going to cut it.

No, I don't find that we have any alternatives as well. All of these politicians are corrupt (minor) and dishonest. I find that people are voting for the lesser evil, not from the greater good.

As Catt stated, it may be a way of covering up a privatisation operation(to which Canadians would assuredly protest against).
Within the context of the debate, the shortage of isotopes was the responsibility of the government, and not the scapegoat they fired.
