Well, it's been quite a while since Politics On Fire has started up. But we need more members! I am trying to figure out new ideas on how to promote this site with a budget close to nothing. Have any ideas?

I'm thinking of putting a small ad in my school newspaper/newsletter for the site, I know that should attract some more members. I may also get my (now previous) social teacher to send out a new mass email for the new 2nd semester students and possibly the 1st semester as well.

Need Ideas. Please post :)

Yeah, advertising in The Advocate is a good idea.
Are you doing any online advertising?

I'm chatting in forums online, but online advertising is starting to get more expensive than offline advertising. I prefer offline, as I can get a better target audience.

Aren't the ads bringing in any revenue?

Close to nothing, not enough to put back into advertising. I put those little orange Kontera keyword ads in, we'll see how they do. I'll put some google ads at the bottom of the page as well. Hopefully that will do, I don't like flooding places with ads.

How about you put bidvertiser and google ads for guests only? Means it won't clutter the site for members, and i'm sure we'll be more than happy to log out and click some ads to generate some revenue.

Or you could also sign up for one of these surveys more cash sites. It means that you won't have to put so much of your own money into it, you'll be earning it online.

Don't make Google ban me for those words! :p

I put ads between posts for guests, so you shouldn't see them right now :)

BUT, guess what? I just sold a web directory I had that was just sitting there collecting dust for $200, so... I now have a $200 advertising budget! Sweet!

Maybe get Hive from NamePros to make you up a cool banner or logo. He did mine at WebmastersHeart and I love it.

No one wants to waits for hours or perhaps days for his/her posts to be approved. You need to change the moderation policy. Otherwise, 99.9% of users get turned off.

Sorry man, it's only you, I don't know what's going on. I'm trying to get to the bottom of it. Everyone else is posting right away no problem.
