BREAKING NEWS

Only hours ago, Former Pakistan Prime Minister and Candidate for the next Pakistani election, Benazir Bhutto was assassinated.
This news doesn't come as a surprise, even Bhutto knew that her life was in danger. There is already blame on the current Pakistani government headed by Pervez Musharraf for the attack and assassination of Bhutto.

Women are property in Pakistan... They aren't going to let one come to power again.

The funny thing about that is... TONS of men in Pakistan support Bhutto and are mourning and are in anger over her death. This is evidence that the country is changing.

Consider retracting your statement. Bhutto was Prime Minister twice before, and was expected by many to be elected again.

It's about time people learn to draw the line between religion and politics.

Oh, I have no doubt that the people liked her. The current rulers on the other hand, and the religious extremists...

If, as you stated, it is believed that Musharraf was behind it, it is entirely possible that the region could descend into civil war, which would not be good for the Middle East at all, considering its already sketchy condition.
However, I vehemently condemn the reporting of CNN (which I was forced to watch while sitting in an airport) on the subject. There was no actual information of context of the situation other than her death.

The reports by CNN are mostly fabricated by governments, they just want their news to be bought by people. It is all speculative that musharraf was behind the attack and the tabloid nature of media and newspapers are hard to believe.

Very sad news. The destruction she left after she died was horrible. Buildings were burned and people were being murdered.

I believe that General Musharraf was involved in one way or another. He is nothing more then a dictator and he will rig the polls, I surely would if I were him. I still don't understand why we are allies with Pakistan. This just goes to show that if you have nuclear weapons, your possibilities are endless. A nuclear power under the control of a dictator, thats really disturbing. Bhutto got in his way and he had her assassinated, hopefully her son can win the vote of the People of Pakistan.

Pakistan 's Democracy is in tatters.
Pakistan is heading towards a Dictator's rule.Musharraf is playing games with the US while simultaneously cooperating with Al -Qaeda and Taliban.

Nuclear power under control of a dictator is terrifying! Never before has such an atrocious thing happened in the history of the planet... Except for the soviet union, which had thousands, except for China which still does, except for Russia now, which is essentially a dictatorship, and North Korea, which didn't nuke Japan (cue shock and horror!). I would be more worried about them getting into the hands of religious extremists. People like Musharraf wouldn't allow that, as it would lead to his own downfall. And that's why he can be trusted with them, whereas Al-Quaeda and Iran couldn't be. He still has some sense of reason left.
